Services

Fertilization & Weed Control

Our lawn care programs are specifically designed to meet the nutrient needs of your lawn and achieve a weed free appearance. All programs begin with a free lawn care analysis. An insured, licensed and trained lawn care professional will visit your lawn and inspect your turf. A standard or natural program will be designed specifically for your lawn. Both programs use high quality slowrelease granular fertilizers and liquid weed controls.

We also offer these optional services:
• Crabgrass control
• Disease control
• Grub control
• Mole control
• Perimeter pest control (spiders, roaches, grubs, fleas, ants, ticks, crickets, and earwigs)
• Vegetation Control (Round Up)

Weekly Mowing

Proper mowing helps your lawn grow thicker, makes your lawn look better and is a key pest control measure. The benefits of proper mowing require the right mowing technique, frequency and height. Our experienced staff will mow your lawn properly and safely with only well-maintained commercial-grade equipment. Our weekly mowing service also includes string trimming around all obstacles and blowing off grass clippings from landscape beds and hard surfaces. Our staff will also remove excess debris before the service begins.
Mowing season approximately April 19th - November 14th

Aeration & Overseeding

Core aeration is the process of mechanically extracting small, finger-sized ‘cores’ of soil and turf from the lawn. Benefits of core aeration include decreased soil compaction, deeper and stronger roots, decreased thatch and increased air, nutrient and water movement within soil. Once core aeration is completed, your lawn will also be more resistant to disease and drought problems. All underground utilities and sprinkler system heads must be flagged before this service can be performed.
Best time to aerate is spring (April 15th - June 1) and fall (August 15th - October 15th). Recommended bi-annually or annually.

Overseeding

Grass will slow down in reproduction after five years. Over seeding improves turf density and repairs bare spots. Over seeding introduces more disease and drought resistant varieties of grass seed to your lawn. This service is combined with our core aeration service. Multiple passes with our core aerator ‘opens’ up the lawn to insure optimal seed-soil contact. A matching blend of grass seed is applied to match the existing grass type and sun / moisture conditions. Newly planted grass seed requires water three times / day for fifteen to thirty minutes for four to six weeks
Recommended every three to five years.

Soil Testing

The balance of minerals in your soil will change as your turf grass use the supply of some minerals and possibly add to the supply of others. A soil probe is used to draw multiple soil cores from turf areas. Soil may be sampled for nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, organic matter, micro-nutrients and acidity (pH). Our soil test report will reveal the state of your soil and includes suggestions on what amendments will improve your soil and what fertilizer is best for your lawn.
Recommended every three to five years.

Spring & Fall Cleanup

Spring clean-up includes removal of all debris (trash, sticks, leaves and dead vegetation left from the fall clean-up) from turf areas and ornamental beds. The initial mowing of the season is also performed. Fall clean-up includes removal of all debris from turf areas and ornamental beds. We will cut back perennials and/or ornamental grasses; perform the final mowing of the season and dispose of all debris off-site if requested. Gutter cleaning is also available.

Dethatching & Power Raking

Thatch is a layer of living and dead stems, leaves and roots which accumulate between the grass and soil underneath. Some thatch is beneficial but once thatch accumulates more than ½”, the movement of air, nutrients and water to the roots is restricted. An unhealthy thatch layer increases the chance of disease and insect manifestation. Power raking should be done routinely every spring to lift and loosen matted grass due to foot traffic, snow and ice and remove thatch accumulated over winter. De-thatching is the process of vertically slicing the turf with steel blades to loosen and remove thatch. This process generates a large amount of thatch and debris; removal of thatch and off-site disposal are optional services. Call us in the early spring to schedule dethatching or power-raking. Lawns can be immediately over seeded or fertilized after these services.

Bed Care & Shrub Care

Services include edging, mulching, planting and weeding. Edging is cutting in a planting bed which helps impede the growth of grass into a designated mulched area. Bed mulching improves the look of your beds, helps maintain a consistent soil temperature, aids in retention of water for plants, suppresses weed growth and adds nutrients. Mulching is typically done in spring before annuals are installed or perennials grow up; fall mulching service is also available. Planting service is available for annual and perennial plants and shrubs. Weeding service includes maintaining beds between April and November; Preemergent and vegetation control chemicals are used as well as pulling weeds by hand.
